BFA SHOW
Set In Stoneware
My Bachelor of Fine Art Exhibition at San Jose State University
April 7-10, 2025
IS 236

This is my 8th and final exhibition of my undergrad at San Jose State University.
I created this puppet show to recreate the magic of the theatre and its strength of storytelling. I have a devotion to chronicling moments. But up until this program, I shared these stories only with journals. It is not always easy to throw your own recital of emotional affliction, Or sharing the positives that may seem trivial at first glance. Any personal story can be a difficult thing for someone who has mostly kept to themselves. But the production held in a theatre isn’t about one singular being. It is the culmination of working together to accomplish a story. While creating this work I realized how much I have grown during the pursuit of this degree. How much I have been able to build beyond any singular piece.

Every show I threw has made this one possible, the chance to push them beyond the limits of a week long exhibition.
Every good story needs its characters, and for me I have my puppets.A reflection of how I view myself. How It’s easier to speak freely through a puppet than it is in person. I am ready to tell stories through my installations and ceramic works. To step off the page and let my words gain strength through my own voice. To take the substance and make it stoneware.
